Conservative MEP launches campaign "The Digital Single Market – What's In It For Britain"

 Conservative MEPs, including Consumer Spokesman and Internal Market Coordinator Daniel Dalton, have launched a campaign "The Digital Single Market - What's In It For Britain" to promote the UK's digital economy. The digital and tech sectors already support almost one and a half million jobs in the UK, and the e-commerce market in the UK is valued at over €100bn, the largest in the EU.

Strasburg, 28th April - Daniel Dalton MEP, Conservative spokesman on consumer protection, along with other Conservative MEPs, has opposed EU legislation which would force all cars to include controversial satellite-tracking technology that broadcasts a locator signal in the event of an accident. They opposed the measure as expensive, authoritarian and potentially counter-productive.

Brussels, 17th April - Daniel Dalton has been named Conservative consumer protection spokesman in the European Parliament.The West Midlands MEP will lead for the Party on issues such as trading standards, product safety, fake goods and fair business practice.  

Conservatives win key free trade vote in Brussels

Brussels, 24th March - West Midlands MEP Daniel Dalton, lead negotiator for the ECR Group on the Internal Market Committee (IMCO), has lauded Conservative victories in a key vote on the proposed free trade deal with the USA. IMCO members voted to endorse key Conservative objectives, backing a comprehensive agreement that protects investors, without limiting the scope of a deal before negotiations have even seriously begun.   

Dan Dalton MEP quizzes Agri Commissioner on new CAP rules

Strasbourg, 11th March – West Midlands Conservative MEP Daniel Dalton has warned the EU Agriculture Commissioner, Phil Hogan, about the implementation of the new greening measures of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) during a meeting of the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) group in Strasbourg and urged the Commissioner to deliver on his promises of simplifying the CAP in the future.   

Local MEP calls on EU to speed up new EU-Mexico trade deal

 Brussels, 4th March - Whilst the Mexican President is in London to discuss greater links between our two countries Dan Dalton MEP met with the Mexican Ambassador to the EU to talk about how to speed up a new EU-Mexico free trade agreement.
