Councillor Phil Grove officially opened the new eco building at Barty’s Preschool in the village of Grimley on Saturday 27th September. He thanked all the sponsors that made it all happen, unveiled the commemorative plaque and cut the first slice from a cake baked especially for the event. Mr Grove revealed he was a former pupil at Grimley and Holt School and was delighted to be back to see how the school had changed.
Mrs Helen Hoarle, head-teacher, said: "It was a wonderful community event to celebrate the opening of our beautiful new building. These events bring home to me just how much our school and preschool mean to the staff, families and our local community. It would take far too long to list everyone who worked tirelessly to fundraise for our new eco building and those who worked so hard to make the Grand Opening event such a success. However I cannot thank you enough; you have created a future for our school.”
Visitors were able to look round the new building and take part in children’s activities including craft activities, meeting Peppa Pig and a big bouncy castle.
