WEST WORCESTERSHIRE MP Harriett Baldwin has set out her agenda for next year focusing on helping local people and businesses to recover beyond the pandemic.

The MP set out plans to encourage wider take up of the vaccination programme allowing fewer restrictions next year and helping our schools to stay open.

Over the coming year, Harriett has pledged to support businesses to create jobs and good incomes, to support the local economy with better local rail services, improved infrastructure – including better broadband, better mobile phone coverage and road improvements like the A4440 and the Bluebell Farm roundabout near Upton-upon-Severn.

Harriett also plans to continue her support for the vital flood defence schemes in Tenbury Wells and Severn Stoke – which are both expected to start work next year.

Harriett said: “My message last year has been one of thanks for everyone involved in the vaccination programme and I plan to keep repeating my message. If you haven’t come forward to have your first, second or booster jab, please do so.

“We all hope that next year will be a period of recovery and growth and hopefully we will be able to focus on helping businesses to grow creating new, better paid jobs for local people.

“I also hope that people will be take their own steps to help us achieve our climate change ambitions – making homes and businesses more energy efficient and trying to take more green journeys – by walking, cycling or taking green transport solutions on more journeys.

“Everyone’s eyes have been on the impact of coronavirus over the last two years, but I firmly hope that 2022 will be the year that we launch into a period of sustained growth which will allow us to start to manage the national debt responsibly and continue to support our schools, the police and, of course, our amazing NHS.”
