WEST WORCESTERSHIRE MP Harriett Baldwin joined fund-raising volunteers in Martley to kick off this year’s poppy appeal at a coffee morning last week.
And the MP took along her miniature daschund named Poppy to help to celebrate the work of the Royal British Legion and local supporters.
Each year, thousands of volunteers help to sell the iconic poppies and other merchandise to help to raise funds for the Armed Forces community.
Harriett helped to kick off this year’s local appeal by joining a fundraising coffee morning in Martley and bought a dog collar poppy.
Harriett said: “Each year we proudly wear our poppies to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our way of life and raise valuable funds for the Royal British Legion.
“I have tremendous respect for those who serve and it is important that we all wear a poppy to honour the memory of those who gave their lives as well as those who serve in our Armed Forces today at home and abroad.
“It was great to be able to visit a local Royal British Legion branch in Worcestershire and help to spread the word about this year’s Poppy Appeal.”
